Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Skills Training program
The Psychology Clinic runs a 24-week Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills training group program. DBT is a type of therapy shown to be effective for people who have difficulty regulating their emotions, are easily overwhelmed by emotions, have a history of complex trauma, have a diagnosis or features of borderline personality disorder, as well as those with behaviours associated with poor impulse control including self-injury and binge eating. DBT Skills Training programs cover 4 core skill areas aimed at improving the lives of participants. They are: Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Distress Tolerance and Emotion Regulation Skills.
