Dr Adam Visser
Intensivist
Adam spent the first three years of his medical career as a junior doctor at Toowoomba Hospital, before training as a physician and ICU specialist at the Gold Coast Hospital and The Alfred, Melbourne. He then returned to Toowoomba as a consultant, commencing at both Toowoomba Hospital and St Andrew’s Toowoomba Hospital in 2011.
As Director of St Andrew’s ICU, Adam leads a dedicated and experienced team of doctors, nurses and allied health team members to provide expert care to critically ill patients requiring organ support, or those who need treatments or monitoring not available in the ward setting.
St Andrew’s ICU is able to provide multi organ supports including invasive ventilation, dialysis, and intra-aortic balloon counterpulsation.
