St Andrew’s Toowoomba Hospital warmly welcomes Dr Julian Pavey into part-time private practice as an Endocrinologist and Obstetric Physician, commencing consulting onsite in February 2023.
Dr Pavey graduated from the University of Queensland in 2014 and started his training as a junior doctor in Toowoomba. He completed his training in Endocrinology at the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital, Townsville and Toowoomba Hospitals, and gained his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2022. He completed a year of post-fellowship Obstetric Medicine training at the Mater Hospital in Brisbane.
Dr Pavey values the importance of holistic care for his patients in conjunction with their general practitioners and ensuring that his patients’ needs are met. He is committed to individualised, patient-centred care.
Dr Pavey is experienced in managing a wide range of hormone issues as well as medical disorders in pregnancy. His interests span all areas of general Endocrinology and medical disorders in pregnancy.
Special interests include:
- Type 1, Type 2 and Gestational diabetes including insulin pump therapy and diabetes technology
- Thyroid, adrenal and pituitary disorders
- Calcium disorders and osteoporosis
- Preconception counselling
- Management of medical disorders in pregnancy
Dr Pavey values the importance of education and training of medical students and junior doctors. He holds an academic appointment with The University of Queensland.
Dr Pavey is excited about returning to Toowoomba and providing care to patients in the Darling Downs region.
