The St Andrew's Cancer Care Centre consists of the following specialist services:
(a) Medical Oncology Services
(b) Radiation Oncology Services
The medical oncology unit consists of 25-chairs and is a bright, modern unit located on the eastern side of the St Andrew’s Cancer Care Centre building. Visiting specialists from Haematology Oncology Clinics Australia (HOCA) support medical oncology services both in terms of consultations and treatment cycles. The medical oncology unit is well equipped and staffed by qualified and experienced nursing staff.
The radiation oncology unit is operated by Radiation Oncology Queensland (ROQ) and consists of Radiation Oncologists, Physicists and Radiation Therapists.
ROQ offers a comprehensive range of specialist and general radiotherapy procedures to Southern and Western Queensland. Equipped with state of the art equipment and one of the first truly digital radiation oncology facilities in the world, ROQ has the aim of delivering high quality and affordable radiotherapy services to the people of Toowoomba, the Darling Downs and beyond.
As part of the wider cancer care service, a Head and Neck Clinic consisting of Radiation Oncologists, ENT Surgeons and a Speech Pathologist consult on cases and together, assess and formulate a multidisciplinary management plan for treatment of cancer in the head and neck area.
