West Ward is a 20-bed acute in-patient Mental Health Unit (ie. the only private mental health unit in Toowoomba). Trained and qualified mental health professionals staff the unit, providing an in-patient group program, and a day patient psychology clinic.
A comfortable living environment is provided, including a recreational room and covered pergola area where regular barbecue outings are arranged by staff for patients and their families. All rooms have reverse cycle air-conditioners, remote control televisions and telephones. Meals are served in a central dining room.
A General Practitioner may refer a patient to the Mental Health Unit however a referral to a Psychiatrist must be received within 24 hours.
