Become a Volunteer

St Andrew's Toowoomba Hospital's volunteers play a vital role in the first class service offerd at the hosiptal.

St Andrews' has around 50 volunteers, some who have volunteered at the hospital for many, many years. Our volunteers assist with a range of crucial tasks:

Our Buggy Drivers: Collect and drop off our patients from around the hosiptal campus in a buggy to save patients and family waking to and from the carpark.

Our Hospital Auxiliary: Volunteers are rostered on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday to visit patient rooms and freshen flowers. Cake and Craft Stall are held throughout the year along with Fashion Parades the money rasied from these events is donated to the hospital at the end of each year.

Cancer Care Volunteers: If you are interested in becoming a Cancer Care Centre volunteer please contact the Qld Cancer Council on 4690 5800.

Pastoral Care: Working with the hospital chaplain the hospital also has a large number of visiting Pastoral Care Workers and Ministers of Religion of various denominations and faith traditions who visit the hospital and offer emotional and spiritual support to patients and their families. Patients are given the opportunity to accept or decline a visit, if you require a visit from a member of your faith or the hospital chaplain (available 24/7) please ask one of our nursing staff members to arrange this for you.

The hospital Executive would like to express sincere appreciation for the unwavering support, dedication and commitment displayed by all volunteers towards St Andrew’s Hospital.
